State Prevention Resources
The Wisconsin Nutrition and Physical Activity State Plan to prevent obesity and related chronic disease provide a statewide focus for obesity prevention, management and health promotion through nutrition and physical activity. The Wisconsin Partnership for Activity and Nutrition, the Nutrition and Physical Activity Program and other stakeholders will work together to accomplish the goals, strategies and objectives that are outlined in this plan. The plan activities to reduce overweight and obesity in Wisconsin will be targeted to reach children, adolescents and adults across all races and socioeconomic levels.

CDC's Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity (DNPA) takes a public health approach to address the role of nutrition and physical activity in improving the public's health and preventing and controlling chronic diseases. The scope of DNPA activities includes epidemiological and behavioral research, surveillance, training and education, intervention development, health promotion and leadership, policy and environmental change, communication and social marketing, and partnership development.

BAM! Body and Mind is an online destination for kids created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Designed for kids 9-13 years old, BAM! Body and Mind gives them the information they need to make healthy lifestyle choices. The site focuses on topics that kids told us are important to them, such as stress and physical fitness, using kid-friendly lingo, games, quizzes, and other interactive features.
Girls Health provides tools and resources that encompass the various spectrums of wellness. Girls Health not only aims to teach girls about eating the right foods and staying active to maintain a healthy body size- and a healthy self-image, it also provides information about alcohol/drug abuse, safety, and emotional health.

We Can! or "Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition" is a national program designed for families and communities to help children achieve a healthy weight. The program focuses on three important behaviors: improved food choices, increased physical activity and reduced screen time.
School Resources
In an effort to increase fruit and vegetable consumption in Wisconsin, the Department of Health and Family Services Nutrition and Physical Activity program developed"Got Dirt?" - a program designed to assist with the implementation of school, community, and child care gardens.
The only nonprofit organization formed specifically to address the epidemic of overweight, undernourished and sedentary youth by focusing on changes at school. They work in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to improve children's nutrition and increase physical activity, which will in turn improve their readiness to learn.

The Worksite Wellness Resource Kit is a tool to assist worksites with implementing strategies that have been proven to be effective. The kit provides information to implement a broad range of strategies or programming: some will require very little or no resources while other strategies may require considerable resources.
